Don't Automatically Substitute Remsima or Inflectra for Remicade
You'll soon see two new versions of infliximab called Remsima (REM-see-muh) and Inflectra (in-FLEC-truh).
They will be used as alternatives to Remicade...but they're NOT considered generics. Instead, they're called biosimilars...or subsequent entry biologics (SEBs).
That's because infliximab and other biologics are made from cells of living organisms and cannot be exactly duplicated.
