Some meds are notorious for causing esophageal ulcers... tetracyclines...bisphosphonates...NSAIDs...potassium chloride.
Dosage forms can add to the problem. Gelatin caps can stick to the esophagus if they are not washed down. In cases such as potassium chloride, some tablets are big and can get stuck.
