Detrol (tolterodine) for urinary frequency, urgency, or urge incontinence

Pharmacia & Upjohn is now marketing Detrol (tolterodine) for urinary frequency, urgency, or urge incontinence.

It's an antimuscarinic like Ditropan (oxybutynin). These drugs inhibit bladder contractions and delay the desire to void.

The difference is that Detrol is less likely to cause dry mouth because it's more selective for receptors in the bladder.
