The American Heart Assoc now recommends STOPPING all NSAIDs except aspirin in heart attack patients.
Patients who take NSAIDs within a week before a heart attack seem to have a higher risk of a recurrent heart attack or death.
Discourage using any NSAID...except aspirin...during hospitalization for heart attack or unstable angina.
