The National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI) in Canada still recommends FOUR doses of Prevnar during childhood.
Preliminary studies show that THREE doses of Prevnar (heptavalent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine) have similar efficacy to FOUR doses...for most patients.
Some regions have now adopted a three-dose regimen...Australia, parts of Italy, and even Quebec. The U.K. will follow later this year.
